Serendipitous Fairy Tale Tabloids

imitating a newspaper's voice with a funny idea

Student Writer Instructions:

Could there really be newspapers in Fairytale Land?   Authors Colin and Jacqui Hawkins think so, and they share this unique idea in their book Fairytale News.  But what about tabloid newspapers in Fairytale Land?

Imagine there's a tabloid newspaper called "The Fairytale Enquirer."  It's like the National Enquirer, in that the stories include a lot of gossip, but they are written to sound like real newspaper stories.  Now imagine you live in Fairytale Land and you just glanced towards the tabloid rack at the supermarket.  You see the headline you will create below by pushing the four buttons below.  Please write a "news" story that would follow your headline.  Work on your writer's voice by trying your best to make it sound like an actual news story...even though it's not.

Interactive Choices for Writing:
