Three-Sentence Overview of this Lesson:
Inspired by Frank Keating's beautiful picture book about Theodore Roosevelt, students will organize and write a presidential report that is inspired by famous quotations said by the president they have researched. Students will, first, gather quotations said by a president, then research circumstances that would explain why the president said that during his lifetime. Each page of the student's report will feature a quotation and an explanation (in the student's own words) on why the president probably said that. Teachers: Click here to see the entire lesson plan.
