Student Sample: Middle School

Six Different Ways to See the Sun
by Amanda, eighth grade poet

The bright yellow puzzle piece
That joins the puzzle
Of the colors blue and white

A yellow daisy
Shining proudly
In a field of blue and white lilies

A splash of yellow coloring
Floating around by itself
In a puddle of blue

The single yellow crayon
In a light blue box
Filled with white crayons

A yellow moth
Flitting about
The colony of blue and white butterflies

The chirping yellow chicks
Popping out of the
Blue egg shell speckled with white
