The Writing Genres
exploring the variety of purposes that writing can achieve

Have you seen Susan Allen and Jane Lindaman's alphabet book Written Anything Good Lately? It is our new favorite book for explaining the variety of purposes that writing can have to student writers.

We are determined to build a new focus here at WritingFix in 2009: the writing genres.

In a classroom, students learn that writing takes many forms and has many purposes. The genres of writing should be studied, and students should build portfolios, containing final drafts that demonstrate many purposes and forms of polished writing.

From this page, you can gain access to WritingFix's genre focus pages, all of which are currently being developed. During 2009, we expect this page and our genre focus pages to blossom.
