A Mini-Workshop:
"To Be Perfectly Honest"

This step-by-step mini-workshop was proposed by Northern Nevada teacher Theresa McKillip while attending a teacher in-service sponsored by the Northern Nevada Writing Project. Theresa explains, "This workshop will walk you and your students step-by-step about a time they lied.  I use it with eighth graders, but I believe it could be used with younger or older students.  If anyone gets stuck, it might be helpful to ask them if they have ever faked being sick in order to stay home from school."

Writer Instructions:

Even though many of us don’t like to admit it, most people have told a fib at some point in their lives.  Think about a time you lied.  You are going to write a description about a time when you were less than truthful.  When you are ready to begin writing, get some scratch paper and a pencil, then click the button and follow the directions below.  And always remember...honesty is the best policy!

If you accidentally hit the button and go past a step, click on your mouse's right button and choose undo to go back a step.
